So I bought a new desktop computer from CyberPowerPC which arrived on the 6th of January this year. The computer was running great with no problems at all, until yesterday when the screen froze but sound was still coming through the speakers. Naturally, I restarted the computer and when it booted up again, I noticed the resolution set itself to 800 X 600 instead of the 1920 X 1080 that it was. I changed the resolution back thinking that it was probably just a bug or something, and then when I started my games up, I noticed that the graphics settings were set all the way down to bare minimum which is weird because I bought a computer with a GTX 970 just to avoid that.

I have Windows 10 64-bit Installed on my PC from the Manufacturer, so a friend of mine on skype told me to check the Device Manager through control panel and when I opened it, there was this little caution sign, the yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark, next to the icon with the text "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970" under "Display Adapters". I clicked on the properties and it says under the Device status that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".

The same friend told me to run a DDU to uninstall the hardware and to download and reinstall the drivers from Nvidia. Once I finished installing the drivers and restarted my computer, the resolution AGAIN went to 800 X 600 and the zoom went up to 175%. I restored everything to the way it was but the Device Manager still had that little caution sign next to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 text. The "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" was still there so I closed out of everything and ran the Windows Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. It said I wasn't allowing driver updates to be installed, and it prompted me to change the settings DESPITE the fact that the settings were already set to allow driver updates. When it was detecting additional problems, it found 3 things:

Windows Update configured to never install drivers - Not Fixed
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 is not working properly - Detected
Your PC must be restarted - Detected

Now I don't know if I configured Windows Update to install drivers properly or not, which I might need help with, but I restarted my computer and all of a sudden the Graphics Card started working again. No caution sign in Device manager.

It ran well for a few hours after until the computer froze up on me again. I restart it, and the resolution is back to crap, only this time it wont let me change it to anything higher. I ran DDU again, restarted my PC, installed the drivers through GeForce Experience and in the middle of installation the aspect ratio goes back to normal, but the resolution was warped and nothing was legible. I checked Device Manager and found the caution sign was next to the graphics card name under the Display Adapter.

Under the Event Viewer is an error that is marked around the time my Graphics Card stopped working. It states:

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
1221(83b4) 00000000 00000000

I've been redoing every single step I took before, and now the resolution and everything else is normal, EXCEPT the Code 43 error is still there and now I can't get Windows to use my graphics card. That's is why I come asking here:

How do I restore functionality to my graphics card?
