Hello, I am trying to upgrade my notebook hard drive. My laptop is an HP Envy 4-1043CL ultrabook. I currently have a 32 GB SSD and a 500 GB HDD. The 32 GB SSD is a cache and is enabled using Intel Rapid Storage Technology. I would like to upgrade the 500 GB HDD to a 1 TB SSD. I realize that there may not be any significant performance gains, but I would like to increase my storage capacity. How should I go about cloning the hard drive so that all of my files are copied? I have tried using CloneZilla Live but this resulted in an unbootable system with the new SSD. Are there any specific settings I should use? Thanks in advance for your help.

PS: I have read this thread, but I still do not understand what I need to do:

hey Gandalf  So I didnt get it either. but there is a BIG problem if you want to replace the SSD on your hardrive: I did some research and apparently looking at the manual of instructions: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03599931.pdf on the page 56. its clearly showing that inside your machine, you have 1 sata (Normal) hard drive and 1 mSata (The SSD 1) very specific hardrive. You will probably have a really though time if you want to replace this SSD what you can do although is to buy a samsung 850 evo 500Gb, install the windows 10 as a new system. And to save your data: buy a cheap adaptor on amazon and transform your old internal HD to a external with all your data on it http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-External-Enclosure-Tool-free-FE2001/dp/B00DW374W4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1453674168&sr=8-3&keywords=2.5+sata+case

Edit: almost forgot, for your small 32gb mSata ssd you could use it as a cache disk. (The performance will me minimal) http://superuser.com/questions/390071/how-can-i-use-my-small-ssd-as-a-cache-for-a-larger-hard-disk

How ever im not an expert about this so I cant really help you
