pretty sure teh hd 7950 is above the gtx 760, however by a small margin, not to mention the higher heat generation and power consumption. In such a case I would go for the gtx 760.

In reality the GTX 760 doesn't perform better than an R9 270(X), based from my experience. That article is not only from 2013 but also when the GTX 760 was just released. Benchmarks from then especially not always accurate. The HD 7950 (R9 280) should be better.
