I'm looking to build a computer for around 600. What would be the best parts?

You make alot of bad trade offs to get that.
1. low Ram 2. low HDD space and also slow HDD space that can cause hiccups in games run off it 3. You won't ever use 8 cores for anything. 4. it runs so hot naturally you have to buy an extra expense of an aftermarket cooler.

Here's a $600 system that has the newest tech, and also an OS, unless you don't need one, which would help alot, but you probably do.

Just saying, you could get a 2x4 GB RAM kit a little bit cheaper and it should up the minimum FPS by a miniature amount compared to 1x8. Not a big difference, but it's normally cheaper, so why not? Also you should really get an ASRock motherboard because they have unlocked base clock on Skylake processors (like the i3 6100 James suggested). This means it's basically overclockable. Other MOBO manufacturers will probably also include this sooner or later, but buying an ASRock now would be a safe bet now.

Not true. Dual channel vs single channel ram won't make a difference for 99.9% of games/applications. A single channel 1066 speed ram would be slower than a dual-channel 1600 speed ram, and that's likely what most people who make that claim are doing.

Well, that's basically what I meant. An incremental increase in performance for a few bucks less. In local stores near me the difference is up to 15$ so it's worth considering if no online retailer is handy for him as is the case with me.
