I have a laptop and a new pc. I'm giving my laptop to my brother so I was wondering how I would be able to move everything from my laptop to my new pc. If you know of any software/cables I could use please let me know. Thanks.

Solution
first you have to remove the hdd from the laptop which should be somewhere under the laptop sealed with small screws. once you have the hdd out of the laptop you will need 1 SATA cable and POWER from your pc to your hdd. once you boot into windows it may show an autoplay of the hdd and all the information will be there. if it doesnt show up it may be hidden. to reveal them do these steps.

1. Open the Windows search box and type Folder.

2. Select Folder Options and go to the View tab.

3. Find the Hidden Files and Folders section and then click on Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives.

4. Click the OK button.

now it should now show up on my computer and you will be able to access its content.

This depends on what you mean by 'files' and 'everything'.

Your personal files? Doc/music/video...stuff like that? No problem.
The OS and your applications? No.
That needs to be reinstalled on the new desktop. With another OS license.
