I have serious problem while instaling Windows Xp on my old desktop computer. After starting setup, formating is 100%, and when it starts to coping files it always stops at driver.cab, either it is 5% or 7% of coping, it stops at the same file DRIVER.CAB. I tried different RAM memories, I tried different harddrives, I tried different CD-ROMs and even different CDs with setup. When it stops i get Black screen of death saying page fault in non-pager area, or memory menagment error, or pfn list corrupted, but most frequent is DRIVER IRQL LESS OR NOT EQUAL... Honestly I think that that massages are not such important in this case, cuz no matter what it is on Black screen of death, it continiously stops at coping DRIVER.CAB file. As I said, I tried almost everything, so can anyone give me an idea what should I do to reslove this problem.

Solution
Hi

Driver.cab is one of the biggest files on the CD at about 74 Meg
next one is about 12Meg

so problem could be the faulty CPU or RAM or hard drive

Testing Ram using Memtest86
Test Hard disk using manufactuers bootable diagnostic CD or Floppy disk image

Testing CPU is more difficult, see if bios has a option for disabling the L2 or L3 cache on CPU
system may run stably but slower with cache turned off.
