I was planning on buying my parts for my first gaming PC today. I wanted to make sure that my PSU could power this build and work properly. The PSU is the EVGA 500 W1 80+, 500W Continuous Power. I don't want to pay 100+ dollars on a PSU, I just want to know if this one will be fine.

According to this:

the w-1 series of PSU's from EVGA are actually made by HEC. Not one of the more reliable makers.

it is no better than tier 3. You need to choose one from tiers 1 0r 2.

Thw PSU is the heart of your system, and the ONLY component that can destroy the rest of your build should it fail. Don't "cheap out" on the PSU, it is false economy!

I looked into that PSU and it was out of stock. Any others? Or how about this one I found Thermaltake SMART Series 550W
