I have a Netgear G54/N150 wireless router currently being used as a wired Ethernet router for a 4-system LAN. Netgear tells me that the router can function in addition for a wireless network and is apparently already broadcasting, but I need a wifi adapter in one of my 4 systems.
I don't need speed; might use the wireless network 10 hours/week on a windows tablet at home; but would like decent coverage, e.g., 30 feet on the ground floor of the house where the main system and Netgear router are located; and also up one floor to my office.
What would be recommended for a wifi adapter: USB or card, and which one?
Thanks to the experts in advance.

Your concept makes sense, as I could try the USB router on 1 or another of my systems. Which USB adapter would you recommend to give me decent coverage?

yes as you say its also easier to move the usb one to another pc

theres tons to choose from--personally i get one with a removable antenna as then can upgrade the antenna should it prove necessary

thats what i did when i lived in a large victorian property as the interior walls were all thick brick no plasterboards

plus meant with the upgraded antenna i could use it in the garden on my laptop which would normally have been out of reach of my router
