Why can't I view my CPU temps?

Hello, so I am trying to monitor my cpu temps but these software are not working. I'm not sure why, I can only monitor my cpu temps with AMD Overdrive, Speccy, and my BIOS, are software such as Speccy accurate? Software such as HWMonitor don't seem to work for me. One last question, I have a gigabyte motherboard and I can set the fans on my motherboard to normal, max, or manual. What if I installed a fan splitter? How would this work?

Thanks!

I would assume that you have some sort of AMD FX processor and board, but that really isn't enough to get you a useful answer. Some of the monitoring tools out there are Intel only.

Motherboard Model:
CPU:

If you used a Fan splitter on a controlled port, then both fans would be controlled equally. Assuming like fans they would spin at the same speed. However, there are limits to the power a single port can deliver, it should be noted somewhere in the motherboard manual.

Apologies, should've included my CPU and motherboard. I have a Athlon X4 860K on a Gigabyte F2A78M-D3H motherboard.

I see recommendations for CoreTemp (which I use regularly) and OpenHardwareMonitor for your chip. I don't actually see that CPU on Hardware Monitor's list, though similar A series processors are, not sure why it doesn't work.

Motherboards are more of a gamble, I've definitely had to wait for some features to start working again when I made the switch to Haswell. Power was wrong, then didn't work, now back to working. Not sure if it was the BIOS updates, Windows 10 upgrade, or updates to the program itself. Coretemp caused an instant bluescreen on my other Haswell system after some Windows update, though I don't monitor that one too closely anyway.

Alright, thanks for the help. I've just bought a Corsair H60 today and I'm pretty sure it'll keep my CPU running nice and cool.
