Hello,

recently i bought a laptop and it arrived. I noticed that there was no 128 SSD in the laptop (as it was supposed to be). I think my laptop was manipulated. This laptop came out of the box with 1 TB 5400rpm. And it has 2 partitions and in one of them the OS is istalled.
My desktop pc (which i build by my own and thanks to this forum) has only 1 500 ssd, and it's name is Local disc (C:). BUT, in the laptop (2 partition comming out of the box) it's called '' OS (C:) '' (it has the OS in 372GB) and the other partition '' Data (D:) '' (542GB).
If it was trully new, out of the factory, shouldn't it be called also local disk and have no partitions?

The laptop is http://www.coolmod.com/asus-g771jw-t7031h-i7-4720hq-8gb-1tb-plus-128sdd-gtx-960-173-w81-portatil-precio?virtuemart_category_id=12
Thank you in advance!

1, If it was supposed to have, and you paid for, a 128GB SSD...and it doesn't....that is a problem.

2. Having a second partition called "Data" is generally no problem. Many systems come like that.
1 partition for the OS, 1 partition for other stuff.
(Not the way I would make it, but there it is)

the main hard drive is set up that way becuase vendors like asus and hp dont send a recovery cd out with there laptops any more it placed on the main hard drive in that other partion. when you boot up the laptop you see hit a set key to start a recovery. also in the windows os should be an icon to make a set of recovery disks or usb sticks.
there two ways to set up a 2.5 ssd. one is as the main hard drive for a laptop or desktop the other as a cache drive. on looking at the gaming laptop i think yours is set as a cache drive. check to see in the bios if intel raid is or or speed step. use hdtune to see if there a raid or cache drive.

If that is the case, using a whole 128GB SSD as a cache drive is extremely silly.
