I just bought a new 500w PSU and my graphics card (GTX 950) requires one 8pin PCI. & the PSU I have has a 6pin + a 2pin adapter, is it safe to use that or should I buy a 6pin to 8pin adapter??

There are some cards out there that won't start spinning the fans until the GPU gets to a certain temperature. They do that to reduce noise during idle. I'm not sure whether your card is like that or not. Monitor the temperature of your GPU (I use GPU-z) and try your card out with some games. If the fans don't spin even when the GPU is under heavy load (while gaming) then that is a big problem as the GPU will overheat.
