One day I was screwing around on PC as ususal when all noticed that the volume was SUPER low, even when it was in the higher numbers. This is a surprise for me because normally around 18-25 for volume would be fine, but now I need it to be at 70-100 for it be somewhat enjoyable. It's very odd because all of my system notifications are EXTREMLY LOUD and for my games, its normal but my notifications coming out of my browser (and even watching videos on youtube etc) and my music is very low. Anyone know a fix? I can provide screenshots if you wish.

Thanks.

Have you tried the rear audio green jack?

Run msconfig and try sound test booting up in diagnostics mode with basic devices/services and also try selective startup and uncheck startup items. We'll see if a running program might be interfering.

What were the things you did to do the PC when you noticed the volume? Bit of background information will help me, like did you change anything in the bios, or upgrade windows, things you can remember doing before this happened.

Check your audio software for these settings: Loudness Equalization and Speaker fill and play around with them.

Set optional speakers to the correct setting to how many speakers you have.

Try lowering the Format Hz quality.

Windows playback devices speaker properties has these settings under Enhancements tab. Not sure what audio you have (Realtek, Asus?) will have these settings also.

I've tried all of those before, they haven't worked. I have Realtek with an ASRock Board if that helps. The sound seems to be very low on the browser I use (Maxthon) and the music player I use (Winamp)

i5 4690K
MSI GTX 970
ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
ASUS VX238H 1080p
Thermaltake eSPORTS Poseidon Z
Razer Taipan

And yes I am using the front panel for the audio, with a set of headphones.
