Is that PSU any good? it's on a sale on newegg and im intending to upgrade so i want to know if its a good one or not,what i care about most is durability,so how does it perform when combined with those parts:
i5-6600k
GTX 970
16 GB DDR4
Any expert who can help me here?

Photon is made by Sirtec , not exactly good quality , in power supplies you get what you pay for in most situations.

That's the company though, not the power supply. The Photon does lack some in quality (voltage regulation around 3% on 3.3V and 5V rails, sleeve bearing fan) but otherwise it's good. If companies want, they can make quality power supplies. If I'm correct, they just do what they're told, so if they're told to make a crappy PSU they do so, if told to make a good one, they do so.

For the $11 premium for the EVGA though, I'd get the EVGA.

Yes but I'm just saying it's not a bad power supply at all.

Get the EVGA G2. The G1 and RM have questionable capacitors.

EVGA G2. The Rm650 uses Capxon capacitors and Teapo, the G2 is better, all Japanese.
