Hi everyone,
I'm new to building pc's and it has been a bit of a struggle. Here are my specs:
-Asus H170 Pro Gaming motherboard
-G. Skill 16GB ripjaw v 16gb ddr4-2400
-Intel I5 6500 quad core
-EVGA Supernova NEX 650w+Gold
-CPU fan stock intel
-Corsair 450d case (3 case fans)
The problem that I'm currently having has to do with the motherboard. When I have everything plugged in correctly the motherboard will power on. However the CPU light and fan will turn on briefly and turn back off. It will repeat this cycle until I have to manually power the computer off. When I put in any display ports nothing shows up or no signal is received. So as I am writing this I just got off the phone with an ASUS tech rep and told me it might be my CPU fan and I've already bought a Coolmaster 212 hyper. So I will try that but he said if it isn't then it might be the motherboard and they will send a replacement. I was also wondering maybe if my power supply is not strong enough to handle everything. I don't think this is the case but it was mentioned to me by the ASUS rep. I just wanted to get two cents from other people who may know or want to take a stab at this issue. Thanks and any advice will be much appreciated.
