New hard drive issues

Hey guys I recently got a virus and it was so bad it got into hard drive and effected boot. System. I bought a new hard drive. Now when it gets to evening. Hours or when there is some movement with the computer it will blue screen? Any ideas why

What does the error message say?
I would agree with Paul NZ and say that it may be a good idea to try using different cables. You can even attach the drive to another port.
Other things you can do:
- Run some antivirus/malware scan.
- Test your drive. In case there is something wrong with it, you need to back up the data stored on it. Check this out: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
- Go to your MOBO's website and update all the drivers.

Apart from that, I guess there should be nothing wrong with your old drive except for the fact that it is infected. You can just use some third party tool to wipe it(writing zeros).

That blue screen, is it plain and remains on screen? Or just a pop up blue scree with some message? If It's the first one, Try to clear CMOS. And if it's the second option, check that HDD, it may have bad sectors or damaged ( check if it's not heating too much).
