Cpu ntel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 Quad-Core Processor, 3.2 GHz, 12M L2 Cache, 1600MHz FSB, LGA771 motherboard solutions

Solution
You could look into running it an an LGA775 board. The board would have to support 1600fsb and 150W TDP so your choices will still be limited. Delidded.com has info. on this.http://www.delidded.com/
I never knew there were Core 2 Extreme LGA771 CPUs. Overclocking and servers don't usually go together. I don't think cheap is going to happen. You're looking for the very ultimate LGA775 board and they still bring good money. Those boards would support QX9770 so BIOS microcode "might" not be needed.
I'm afraid that you are out of luck on that one.
This CPU uses a socket 771 interface, not the commonly used 775 interface which consumer boards used.
Any board that you can find with a socket 771 interface should support this cpu, but since they are workstation/server boards, they will not come cheap. (if you can find them)
