Nvidia pascal question

I have a problem with chosing a graphics card. I don't know if I should buy the Nvidia Gtx 980Ti or wait for pascal? Will the pascal 80 be better than the 980ti?

Unless the trend changes, which I highly doubt, the ''1080'' will be better than the 980ti. The 980 was better than the 780ti, and now, Pascal will move to HBM2, which is a massive improvement over GDDR5. I got a 970 in November while I wait for Pascal, because I feel like even the ''1070'' might be better than the 980ti.

PS. I doubt Nvidia will name them 10X0, mostly with the ''1080'' which is rumored to be fully capable of 4k gaming by itself. It feels like naming it 1080 is only going to give haters a reason to make fun of it, so it would be a weird marketing decision.

It will most likely be better, assuming they release a (for example) 1080 ti, which, honestly, isn't that far away with Pascal coming in near may.

I am in the same situation, and I am choosing to wait for pascal. It can't hurt.

that is also what i am wondering. since they released a newer series every year (give or take) i would definitely cry if they release 10xx in a few months. that happened when i bought my gtx 770, i waited for almost a year to buy it, after 2 months, they released 8xx then came the 9xx. i just dont want to spend 800$ (in turkey) + vat for a 980ti and then see 1080 a month later for a cheaper price and much better performance
