So,Will a PCIE 3.0 GPU work with PCIE 1.0 ?
i wanna buy a GTX 750 but i have a msi p41t-c31 mobo and i dont have money for changing the mobo and CPU(i have a Q8300).Will it bottleneck and what about performance loss ? Thanks c:
If when you say PCIE 1.0 you mean PCIE GEN 1 then yes its compatible. Also running a PCIE 3.0 card on a different PCIE GEN slot has no performance hit, PCIE 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 just steadily have higher bandwidth than the previous gen.
It will work since PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible but what sort of performance hit you'll see with a PCIe 3.0 card in a first generation PCIe slot I've no idea, I've never been there.

Yes and NO. There have been many reported instances of newer GPUs not working on older motherboards... I have first hand experience with that. Some motherboards required a BIOS Update to use newer card.. and some just weren't compatible.
Before doing anything, I would first research/check to see if the card you're interested in has had any problems/issues with your particular board.
One thing I should point out is... older motherboards with NVidia chipsets have a history of sometimes not working with newer AMD cards.
