I decided to brave overclocking my cpu by 300 mhz so as to understand the efficiency change possible , mouse/desktop efforts are definately quicker but i would like to see if this makes any change to my gameplay and framerate , any help you can offer here i would be grateful.
Im using an AMD processor and overdrive to facilitate the change.
I also wondered about any unsafe potential there may be.

Solution
Unless you're using a low-end CPU for intensive games you'll only see benefit in very specific games. Most of the time CPU only affects performance if it's inadequate for the game.

What CPU do you have? I recommend to increase 200MHz without adding voltage and stress test for 5 min. Once passed, increase 100MHz and add a little voltage, say 0.100v and stress test again for 5 min. Decrease voltage about 0.005v every time you pass 5 min stress test until the overclock won't pass 5 min. Increase voltage by 0.010 to find the sweet spot voltage to stabilize the CPU. When finding stable voltage, MAKE SURE to test for 12-24 hours. I've overclocked my AMD A10 5800K before and it failed the stress test 6 hours into the stress test so yeah, very important to test for 12-24 hours.
