tl;dr: How best could I upgrade this?

Hey, I built this PC over 4-5 years ago and am looking for a few upgrades. I'm going to be honest, when I built this PC I literally looked at the most popular parts on loads of different Sites and threw them together once I worked out if they worked together, so forgive my ignorance.

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 (REV 3.0) ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

So I'm mainly looking to replace my RAM and Motherboard, thinking maybe the motherboard first so I can upgrade memory to a better speed. The CPU is overclocked to 4.5Ghz but if there is a better option I'm willing to consider it as currently I struggle to run games such as MMO's or even Counter-Strike with decent frames and settings.

Possibly unrelated issue, you can ignore this.
Also I've been having a issue with the build since I made it and never thought it was serious enough to warrant the bother, (I was lazy). The computer never turns on every time, it would take turning it off by a hard reset about 2-3 times before it would boot completely. It also never shuts down completely, it would shut down the OS and hang on a black screen until I held the power button to shut it off completely. Honestly I'm surprised I haven't lost any data yet, or worse, by doing this. I suspect the Memory is the culprit which leads me to wanting to upgrade ASAP.

tl;dr: How best could I upgrade this?

Update: I was looking at the 'Best Picks' reviews and may just go with some of these, specifically I may just replace the silly Kingston memory. Seems leaving the Motherboard upgrade a few more years may be more worthwhile for now.

Update2: I may decide on upgrading to something like this as I really can't find any Z77 Mobos out there.

Strange, I couldn't find the Z77 on Overclockers, Scan or Amazon yet I was able to look it up on PCPartPicker. I'll keep looking, I guess UK stores don't supply them.

I upgraded the PSU recently thinking the same thing, guess it leaves the mobo or memory next.
