My 970 stays at 50-60 degrees idle. Under load it will be around 60-68 degrees.
Is this normal? I have the twin frozr version.
Its also factory overclocked

My full build:
i5 4690k
GTX 970 4GB
msi z97s SLI krait edition
corsair vengeance 8gb
1tb seagate barracuda
hyper 212 evo

Thanks

These cards are, for the most part, designed to idle around 50 degrees. If you feel like your card is getting too hot, you can download a program such as EVGA Precision X or MSI Afterburner.

I have a GTX 970 myself and I idle around 34 degrees C, maxing around 65-70 under full load. Make sure you have a fan curve set with MSI Afterburner or any other GPU monitoring software. It could be that your cards fans won't start at all until it is stressed and so it is just running such high temps because of that. Especially since your max temps is capping at 68, that is not bad whatsoever. I would only reeeeeaalllly worry if your max temps were hitting much higher than that, on top of a high idle.

60 idle isn't good? It's not great, it's not BAD either. The mentality that a GPU running at 60 idle is bad needs to end, that's just the way these cards were designed. The OP probably doesn't have the best airflow. I'll stick to what I said in my previous post and say use a custom fan profile.

I will stick to what I said, 60 isn't good.
I have an MSI GTX 970 and idle is typically 31/32, under load it's 50-55 and under stress it maxes at 72.

I asked about the temps under stress, not under a load.
The idle temp at 60 is concerning.

What are the CPU/Mobo/case temps at?
