When will amd release a new am1 processor?

I have an msi am1l motherboard and am wondering weather to upgrade to a better motherboard and cpu or to wait for a new am1 cpu, at the moment I have the worst am1 cpu but am trying to get into gaming and need more power. Thanks in advance for any answers

You're moving to a new socket no matter what, AM1 was never meant for gaming, it was always meant for small form factor low powered systems intended for web browsing, video playback and office work. As said above, there aren't going to be any new CPUs for AM1, AMD is moving everything to a new socket this year.

Well, if you have your motherboard model #, you can check the list of supported CPUs/APUs & compare it to your current one to see if there's a better one that you can use.

Otherwise, AMD appears to be moving towards a "common" socket for the stand-alone CPUs & the combo APUs (Socket AM4).
