After hours of searching I seem to have settled with the following components for my build. Bearing in mind this is built on a approx £500 budget. Not really used for gaming but running multiple programs inline with a server.

EDITED
Intel I5-4590 with stock cooler
MSI H97 LGA1150 MOBO
HyperX savage 8GB RAM
Sandisk 120GB ssd (operating system only)
Corsair RM 550w Gold
Thermaltake core V31 midi case with extra 140mm fan.

Anyone feel this system would do the job well? Any changes without drastically increasing the price?

Any ideas or opinions much appreciated. Just want to get this right.

Just to add. Would I need a dedicated graphics card or will the I5 suffice. Suppose the option is there in the future if I wish to play a game but for now?

Your current CPU is fine as the 4690K is more than capable.

My concern is the 4 GB of RAM is pretty meager these days. The entry point of RAM for a system like this is 8 GB, and some would go with 16 GB.

The other issue is the PSU, the Corsair CX is "Tier 4" in the list below, and there are more reliable choices around.

If not planning on OC, a stock cooler should be enough, and can save a few bucks there.

Thanks for the reply.

Iv put x2 4GB ram so I am already at 8GB.

OK have gone for the corsair RM 550w Gold as a tier 2.
Have also got rid of the liquid cooler and got the standard heat sink. Will monitor temps and get the liquid cooler if not sifficient.
