Like others have reported here, I have multiple high-graphics games crashing to desktop without error messages after variable amounts of playtime (anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours). Examples include Dragon Age Inquisition and Fallout 4. I've played and hit crashes on various settings from Low to Very High. None of the other threads I've found have presented solutions that worked for me. At this point, I'm expecting to have to replace some hardware, but I would like some advice on guessing which component to replace, since I can only afford to try one of the following right now: PSU, GPU, or CPU+Mobo.

So far I have NOT had such problems with any online games I've played on this computer including Guild Wars 2, League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm, Archeage, etc.

Here is my build, and I'm trying to find out if my PSU is enough (630 W) , or if my video card is a potential problem (even though it got rave reviews on Newegg in its prime) , or if I should consider switching from my AMD CPU and mobo to an intel pair (there's a decent deal right now on an i5-6500) , or if none of the above seem suspect.

My Rig
-----------------
mobo: Asus M5A97 AMD 970
CPU: AMD FX-8150 8-core 3.6 GHz
PSU: 630 Watt Rosewill RG630-S12
GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 660 2GB
RAM: 8 Gb (2x4g) DDR3
OS: Windows 10 Home

- I've updated my NVidia graphics drivers multiple times. I even updated and disabled my sound drivers based on a stray online tip.
- I've added a few extra fans beyond stock and even tried playing with the side panel of my case completely off. I don't have a GPU monitor running, but the CPU is usually in the 45-55 range during crashes. I really don't think heating is an issue due to how completely random the playtime before crashing is.
- I've run multiple antivirus programs (including Malwarebytes), and I've tried disabling as many non-essential windows services and 3rd-party services as I can find.
- I've tried reinstalling the games in question, and I even reinstalled Windows back when I first started encountering this.
