I'm trying to get a computer to turn on after I replaced literally everything. My motherboard just got here in the mail and i am trying to boot it with one 8 gig ram stick, the psu, the cpu, and a monitor to make sure everything is working.

i've only built this one computer and the parts died a few months ago after a fall. I replaced the mobo, the hard drive, the memory, the power supply, and the cpu.

The only things i haven't replaced are the monitor, the graphics card, and the case. I don't even consider the graphics card the problem because i haven't had the graphics card installed since i've been trying to get it to start with the new parts i've been replacing.

I know that when i built this computer the first time, i had the same problem and a friend helped me fix it but i can't remember what they told me to do and they aren't available to help again atm. somehow they got me into bios with booting from the "bare minimum" and it was smooth sailing from there.

I also am not sure if my monitor is dead or not since it turns on, and registers that i've plugged in the cable like it always has. it goes from "no connection" or whatever floating around the screen with the power button lit blue to a black screen with the power button lit yellow. after i power on, it stays like that. black screen, yellow power button.

can the case even be the problem?

EDIT: the parts i have replaced, and links to them, cause i forgot in my haste :p

@alexoiu i am flustered and can't figure out the reply function right now so i'm replying here. Do i really need a picture? i can post one but i have no good cameras and the picture quality will be horrible...

Are both 24 and 8 pin power cables connected? Is the CPU fan spinning when starting the board?
