Bought a new motherboard, RAM, PSU, and CPU. Pm turns on but no video output and an error code that apparently means no memory detected. I have tried a single module, two modules, different modules, resetting CMOS, and repeating CPU.
MOBO : Asrock fatality z170 gaming k6
PSU: Corsair rm1000i
RAM:Corsair vengeance lpx 4x4GB
CPU: i5 6600k

EDIT
Forgot to say that I have also tried each slot when only using one module.
Also, this may be nothing to do with this issue, but we every time I power on the pc, whether I use the front panel power button or the button on my Mobo, the first time the pc powers on for a few seconds, then off. But the second time I press the button, without fail it powers on.

The name on amazon is Corsair CMK16GX4M4A2666C16R Vengeance LPX 16GB (4x 4GB) DDR4 2666Mhz CL16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Module - Red.
Just copied this because I'm not sure what you mean by model, the speed as it says is 2666MHz.

I get a 55 on the 7 segment display at the bottom of the Mobo. According to the manual that means memory could not be detected, please reinstall the memory and CPU (which I've tried), then if the problem persists try single modules etc.

When reinstalling the CPU, have you checked the socket if any bent pin?

I'm not sure about memory controllers for definite, but from reading a page I found this paragraph to do with quad and dual channel ipwration:
It's also important to note that, while Haswell-E and X99 supported quad-channel operation, Skylake and Sunrise Point will only do dual-channel. Presumably Skylake-E will again bring back a quad-channel integrated memory controller.http://arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2015/08/intel-skylake-core-i7-6700k-reviewed/

This dosnt make sense to me though, when I read it it sounds like Skylake dosnt support quad channel memory, but then why does my Mobo have four slots? Sorry if this seems silly to ask but I'm genuinely not sure a at this point what that means.

Also I have looked at the socket and from what I can see there are no bent pins, but I have slight sight problems so may be missing it. But the code sounds like it is a problem with specifically the memory, could it mean the processor is having an issue as well rather then the RAM?

Dual channel means that 2 sticks of ram work "together", so in your motherboard with 4 slots, slots 1 and 3 will work together and slots 2 and 4 will work together (I am guessing that is the configuration). So, yes you can use all 4 slots.

If the memory controller (probably integrated into your cpu-although I looked at the specs for the cpu and didn't find any mention) is defective that "could" be the reason the error code says ram not detected. Do you have a friend with an X99 supported motherboard that you could test the ram in?

No I don't have anyone with an X99 board and don't have one myself. As for the bent pins on the Mobo, as far as I can see it dosnt look like there are any.
Is there anything else I can try before I try to rma the CPU and board? Because it was he'll getting them delivered, CPU was resent 3 times and motherboard was 2 weeks late :D so I'd like to avoid it as much as is possible.

Sorry about the reference to the x99 board. I misread something. As suggested above, try taking the best quality picture of the cpu socket that you can and post it here (I haven't posted any pictures to this forum, so I can't tell you how, but I am sure someone else can).
