Last night when downloading I noticed my computer drop to a crawl. I narrowed it down to the SSD.

It's been fine for many months up until now.

Crystal Disk Mark reports as low as 4MB/s for 1GB sequential, yet 434MB/s 1GB sequential read speed. 4MB/s is slower than my internet!

It's 128GB and reporting 69% full.

SSDLife free (which just reads the s.m.a.r.t data from what I can tell) reports it at 89% health with 1000 hours use left in it (not that I trust those figures at all).

Anyone know what's up? Is it likely dying or have I just inadvertently changed some setting?

Cheers

You could try and test it in another PC either using SATA or External (USB).
If you have the same results it may be the Controller on your SSD that has been corrupted and you will need to replace the SSD.
Otherwise it may be a Driver/firmware related issue in your OS.

Thanks, I'll give it a try this weekend, as I don't have time to take it apart right now. It's in an SG-08 so it's pretty cramped in there.
