Computer cannot pick up Wireless devices?

Recently, My family picked up a new Dual- Band router because the 5-year-old single band couldn't handle the devices. Anyway, my desktop has A Local Area Connection and I tried to connect a Printer and Xbox one. They won't get detected and even when I'm prompted to punch in the IP, still nothing. I do not know what to do at this point!

Are you sure the router is configured the right way? Can other devices on it through cable and wireless access the internet? Assuming it's hooked up correctly and using DHCP, you shouldn't have to punch in an IP. It honestly sounds like it's not setup right.

because its dual band, it could be on another band, my computer.
