I am considering the i7-6700 or i5-6600, and not the K versions since I just want to keep things easy and not overclock. I plan on running Win 10 Pro 64 bit with 16GB of Ram to start and I will create one or more Sandbox VM instances, probably only running 1 VM at a time, but some running win 10 pro. Also I will do some gaming, likely get an Oculus and occasionally some video editing.
Anyway, the 6700 has 8 hyper threads vs 4 in the 6600, and a few other advantages over the 6600 but not many. Anyway is it worth the extra $100 over the other especially if running VM's, and why?
