laptop wont boot from legit windows 8 boot cd

my gf grandfather died few months ago guess what dont know his password. that asid im just trying do clean install of windows 8.1 on the hard drive using the disc but it will not boot it even when i select it to boot from the cd drive

Let me know if it works out, if not read the link I hosted up and then call hp.
That maybe the quickest way if you transfer ownership to you and they will be able to give you the os download.
Just don't add on the bloatware, windows firewall, nod32 antivirus by eset, ccleaner and system mechanic basic.
It'll keep windows 8.1 from going beserk for the time being.

Look up his computer name and model, then do a bing search on default key to boot into the bios or the boot menu.
Look inside the bios and change the boot order to FDD/CD/DVD/USBHDD/sata-ide HDD.
Save the setttings and restart, if it still won't work come back and we'll go from there.
