I have been struggling with this for days. I am now looking at a clean install Win 10, swapped, re-installed and verifies functional 2 Galaxy geforce gtx 650 ti boost, fresh Nvidia drivers (Geforce Experience), I have forced a driver update on the second card as it is showing a yellow tag and no driver. Driver reverts to zed on restart. Yellow tag returns. At times, a restart with the driver intact causes the card fan to race at 100% without stopping. Other times, Nvidia control panel does not see another card and of course there is no SLI option shown. Almost forgot to mention I am running duel monitors.

Win 10
Asus M5A 99fx PRO 2.0 MB
AMD fx 8350
32 GB RAM
875 watts power
Updated BIOS yesterday

Why is Win 10 not allowing an install on the second card? I am at my wits end. Thanks in advance.

No, I did not use SLI in win 7. But both cards work in either slot alone. The first card is installed and working, the second is a code 43. If I force the second card driver install, Nvidia panel shows SLI options and will let me enable SLI only once. But when I restart it is off again and there is mention of display optimization. I have read that SLI and duel monitors might be the problem also. And of course the fan at 100% issue when I force install.

The cards are using different resources according to device manager. But of course their names are identical as they are.

I am wondering if the batch file trick still works by turning off win 10 system apps? I am not too crazy about experimenting right now. It's difficult to believe that Nvidia actually claims their stuff works with win 10 when obviously people are having such problems.

Code 43. Means there is gpu related issue. Also got code 43 from time to time with my 660 SLI before though in my case reinstalling the drivers usually fix the problem for me. Is this your mobo?:

Yes, that is the MB. I can reinstall the graphic driver but it always fails to install on (for) the second card. The second card just sits waiting fore Win 10 to discover that it needs the same driver. If I force it from the "list" and I use the latest listed, the fan fail goes into effect. Then restart brings me right back to nothing. The code 43 issue with the GPU is that it is turned off by win 10.

I am completely beside myself that such multi-billion$$$ corporations with all of the available talent can not figure this out. So, people like you and I who pay for their work must complete the job ourselves for free.

I have updated the bios. They are in slot 1 and 3 which is mobo spec. I did let win 10 start the show but then installed Nvidia drivers after that. I also uninstalled and clean installed them to no avail. I have searched and concluded that SLI does not work with win 10 and nvidia with duel monitors. There simply is no configuration currently available.

SOLUTION: The power supply had a bad port. I removed both cards, swapped the #1 and ran it with the power supply cord for #2 and it would not post. Removed the cord, switched everything again and NG. The port is bad on the PS. Both cards, both monitors, win 10, SLI. Solution for me is power supply port bad.
