I have done various builds myself and would simply like to compare other peoples builds to mine. My dads current PC is simply not fit to play games anymore. He is a big fan of the Total War games and his current PC has trouble playing even the older ones on low. Something around the $500-$600 range would be perfect for him. I'm not to picky on parts other than I prefer Intel CPU's. Just want to make sure I don't miss something on PC Part Picker.

The card may run hot and noisy but it is equivalent to GTX 960 and you can easily fix that with MSI Afterburner.

IMO I'd just go dual channel now, as well as purchase CAS 14 memory over 15. If he ever needs to upgrade from 8GB, he can just buy 2x8, since mixing RAM usually ain't always good anyway. And RAM is cheap anyway.

Have you ever heard of buying the same stick of RAM later on?

Also, in gaming, CAS 14 and CAS 15 makes 0.1-1 FPS difference.

If he doesn't have one, that'll need added and the budget adjusted. Here:

Why would you not recommend the GTX 760 instead?

The GTX 760 you have listed costs more money.

You mean $4 more?

Yes.

Admit it for $4 it is a much better deal.
