I have a budget for about $800-$900. Here's the build:

MB: Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k

Graphics Card: ASUS GeForce GTX 750ti

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB

HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB

CD-Drive: ASUS Black Blu-Ray Drive

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black

PSU: Corsair CX600M

OS: Windows 8 Pro (64-bit)

Network: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter

If the primary goal is gaming, you'd be much better off dropping to 8GB RAM, an i5 4460, the cooler and (possibly, if it saves you money) a cheaper motherboard.

Use the money saved to get a better GPU. You could probably afford a GTX 970 if you ditch all that. Which is I'd guess around 3 times faster than the 750ti in your current build.

Your current build could run most games on medium to high setting with 30-60 FPS depending on the game. But I would get a cheaper motherboard and CPU cooler (because liquid cooling isn't necessary for those specs). If you ditch the motherboard and CPU cooler for cheaper ones, you could afford a much better GPU like a GTX 960 or 970.

here's what i'd build for $900
