I am planning to put an SSD as a system drive, but I wanted to know how much space should be sufficient for Windows 10?

Will 120 GB enough or should I get a 250 GB instead? 250 GB is a bit costlier for me but please advise.

Also what brand of SSD should I buy - Samsung/Sandisk/Kingston?

120(8)GB is about the minimum I recommend. That is enough for windows, all your programs, and a game or two. (I use this)
250(6)GB will allow for some more games, or some larger ones, as well as pictures, documents, and the works.
I generally recommend an 850 EVO up front.

250 GB is pretty affordable now. You could get by with 120, but you wouldn't have much room for games and media. I'm partial to Sandisk but I think Samsung has the edge on price.
