Hey.
Sorry if this has been answered before.

On my work machine, which I use mainly for Maya, I have a single GTX Titan and two Benq 4k monitors. I'm running one of the monitors from the display port on the Titan and one from the HDMI port. The monitor on HDMI is limited to 30hz while the monitor on display port runs at 60hz. I believe I would need another display port in order to run both monitors at 60hz as the HDMI input on the Benq is limited to 30hz.

So my question is:

Do I need buy a Titan just to get another port or can I buy a cheaper GTX card to run alongside my existing card and use the port on that? Can you mix GTX cards?

Thanks!

Solution
You sure can. Just get any card that has DisplayPort.
You cannot SLI them though(you'll need another Titan); you can only use the other one as a 'helper' card.

You could get even a 750 or 750Ti; select companies have DisplayPort on their cards.

Any modern card that has DisplayPort will do. The 750 is the cheapest that I know of - most ultra-cheap cards(non-GTX) won't have DisplayPort - users of such cards are not expected to have the expensive monitors that require DisplayPort connectivity.

Thanks again cst1992.
I think I'm going to go with a second hand 770 from ebay. They're roughly the same price as a new 750/760 in Australia, The 770 has a couple of DPs (not sure why the Titan doesn't), it'll have more cuda cores and will look nicer sitting underneath the Titan.
