i have an hp 8000 small form factor desktop im planning on turning into a low end gaming rig (nothing too fancy, just something that will actually run games that my laptop causes to lag.) already upped the seagate hard drive to a 500gb 7200 from the original 160 gb hdd. i need something low profile for a pci express x16 slot.

as a side note my pc has the E8500 dual core intel processor, not the E8400

Solution
the minimum i would get would be a gt 730 for 80$, but a much better choice would be a gtx 750ti for 100-120$ depending on where you buy it from. Anything cheaper would be a waste of money

ok. i just got a combo block that will allow me to run a secondary 190w psu externally in tandem with the stock psu. with the extra 190w is there any gpus in the $80 price range that are compatible with my computer that excel past the gt 730?

you can take the NVidia gtx 650 its for 85 dollars
youll need to upgrade the cpu though to an i3 3220 3.3 ghz and your ram to 8 gb so that it does not bottleneck each other
it can run games at 1366 by 768 and 1600 by 900 comfortably
