Hello I have a PC I built myself back in 2012. It was worked well since I built it, but lately I am getting BSOD's regularly with the following two error messages; Memory_Management, and PFN_List_Corrupt. I am willing to accept that my RAM has gone bad, but is there some way to rule out the motherboard itself? (I want to replace the right component) I've tried the following:

Getting on the manufacturers website (ASUS Sabertooth Z77) and flashing the BIOS as well as downloading the latest drivers.

I ran a memtest 86x. I failed all but one test on one pass. I realize this points to bad RAM, but again could it be the mobo? Any way to determine which one?

I reseated the RAM in my machine physically, it seemed to be in the slot firm, with no apparent damage.

I updated all the drivers I could think of.

Before I spend money on new RAM or Motherboard, I'd like to try all the software / free solutions I can.

I ran a virus scan, Webroot says all is well

I am more than willing to post a Dx Diag and/or my memtest results if someone will tell me how, for now here are the basics:

Windows 7 pro SP 1 64 bit, Intel Core i7-3770k @3.5 ghz (no overclock), 16 gb DDR3 RAM @1600 Mhz (Patriot), GTX 680 (MSI Lightning, no Overclock)

Thanks for your time and for reading all this, Tom's Hardware is great community that has helped me so much in the past. Thanks again!

This method quickly revealed that I had a bad RAM stick, easily fixed. Thanks!
