APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE : prefer ASAP
BUDGET RANGE : 50-150 USD
USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT : gaming. Heavily modded Skyrim and Warband as of now.
Don't care for "99k ultra-pultra textures on one's 999" display", but do want to launch latest RPGs. Tend to always turn off blur, AA, AF and shadows
CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: programs show 9600 GT 1gb and i see 'palit' sticker on cooler. no sticker on PSU, but P/N might mean 450 w
OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
- Intel Core 2 Duo e8500 for CPU, Intel sticker on cooler(maybe BOX?)
- Asus p5q SE PLUS for MoBo
- 2x2gb DDR2 things in yellow banks, don't see manufacturer sticker(but x32Win7 only sees 3.smth)
Can't say a single thing about case, but it survived falling off the table.
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS : don't care. 1day shipment would be most nice)
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN : Russian Federation

PARTS PREFERENCES : none, don't know enough to be picky

OVERCLOCKING : No
Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE : Maybe, if it's super easy

MONITOR RESOLUTION : 1280x1024 (don’t like widescreens won’t buy one)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS : have no SSD. Ii really want to put another 2x2gb DDR2 in black blanks.
Some NVIDIA application, while greenlighting other old parts, called my GT 9600 1gb unsupported gpu for "game optimization'

Questions:
1. Could dear community suggest a budget/used GPU-replace one won't cry about in case it's sold broken?
2. Is the ever popular 750ti a nice way to threw one's money now and still use her latter in better desktop?
Have nothing against Radeon but l hardly heard about them. Please compare with NVidia if suggested.
Note: live in Moscow and [strike] stupid[/strike] USD is almost 2,5 times higher than it must be, besides capital is a robbery of its special kind.
p.s. please don't poke my spelling.

Solution

anything decent would be castrated by your processor, you really need a quad core especially with skyrim

watch some youtube videos, switching cpu's is easy

that said, a gtx 750 ti would be a HUGE upgrade over your current card ( make sure it is a version that does NOT need a 6-pin power cable from the power supply )

As in "Please don't laugh at said spelling" :D
Thanks for answer!
Sadly new CPU is not possible. Doubt i can correctly switch it myself.
Graphic card and memory sticks are less of a problem.
On Sunday I took out GPU to blow off the dust and put it back. No trouble detected.
Can't do the same with CPU now.
