If you are contemplating a FX 6 or FX8 upgrade, you will want a better than average motherboard. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2383150/motherboard-tier-list.html If a 6 or 8 core upgrade is intended, that will be good for multithreaded production apps. If your upgrade is for gaming, then plan on using a skylake cpu of some capacity for the faster individual core speeds.
