How would I go about reverting a BIOS update? (ASUS p8Z68 V-LE)

Hi

I've recently been having issues with my RAM (memory leaks etc) and tried updating my bios to see if that would resolve the issue. It has not, and has only created alot more issues. Ever since I've updated, my GPU (GTX 560 Ti) will CONSTANTLY be running at 99% usage while playing games that it would have never struggled at before. A perfect example is I used to play dota maxed out @90fps with about 70% usage. Now I can barely run the game on the lowest possible settings and it'll easily hit 80%, 100% if I dare turn up one or two settings.

When the card runs at 99%, it heats up insanely fast and within 2 minutes my PC will BSOD or my GPU will crash because it hit 100*C.

Anyway, how would I go about reverting a BIOS update? Do I do the same thing I did before by installing the previous version via a USB or is there a different way? Ive also heard that you can wipe you board if you downgrade certain MoBos, is this true?

Thanks!

Hmm, not encountered that one before, usually those updaters are pretty dumb and just take any compatible file and load it. Might shoot off an e-mail to their support and see if you can get an answer direct.

There are a few OS based reflash tools that work on newer equipment. Depending on who made your BIOS you might look into on of these.

It is possible the board itself has become faulty as well.

There is always a little risk in bricking a board by having an error during a BIOS update. I came really close once and had an update halt halfway through, after a few crashes (from the BIOS!) I was able to get the updater to run again and complete.

In your situation, you just need the older BIOS file and point the updater to it.

thanks, but whenever I go to update it tells me "Outdated version". Is there anyway to circumvent this?
