When I play Fallout 4 at 1080p it will play for approx. 5 minutes then the PC will instantly power of, no warning, no error screens nothing. I can immediately switch on and boot without any problem.
I have changed the GFX card from a 770 to a 780 and a new, better ventilated case with more and bigger fans which made the power off slightly quicker.
I have tried a CiT EN60950 750w power supply and that doesn't make any difference.
If I switch down the resolution on Fallout 4 to 900p the system will go perhaps 30 minutes before powering off and if I switch it to 720p it will work fine
As for Temps, in one test the System was at 23c, CPU was at 62C, "TMPIN2" at 62c and the GPU at 71c at the moment when the system shut off.
This is really driving me up the wall, I suspect the Northbridge is overheating, it does get very hot but replacing the thermal tape with artic silver made no difference, a powerful fan pointed directly at the northbridge made some improvement but not reliably.
I know the power supply is poor quality but surely an 850w when according to an online calculator I only require 536W should still be fine?
