Does the GPU memory create its own heat?

Ok this is probably a stupid question and honestly it's one I feel I should know.... Does the memory on the GPU generate its own heat? I'm already aware of the heat the GPU creates I'm just wondering about the memory alone.

How much, and how well it is moved elsewhere, is the question.

yes. anything with electricity running through it will generate heat. the amounts vary greatly but all elactrical parts and wires.
depends on the Video card and the equipped memory. there are GPU memory heatsinks available.

usually the video cards fan blows air across the chips by design to cool them, or the cooler will contact the chips.
