So I'm planning on buying an Alienware 17 R3 laptop and I'm not familiar enough with specific CPU's and GPU's to know what the best setup available is.

What I am looking for

    ■ 17.3 UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO IPS, Anti-Glare
    Intel Core i7-6820HK 8MB Cache
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 8GB GDDR5

What is currently available

    ■ 17.3 UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO IPS, Anti-Glare
    Intel Core i7-6820HK 8MB Cache
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5
    ■ 17.3 UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO IPS, Anti-Glare
    Intel Core i7-6700HQ 6MB Cache
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 8GB GDDR5

In case you are wondering I have not listed system memory because it can be upgraded, I have only listed these three main components because they are the things I will not be able to upgrade in the future.

The first is what I have been looking for, but is currently un-available from what I can find, the second two are pretty much the best setups i can find, aside from what would be the overall best I'm curious how much of a difference it will make choosing one of the two currently available setups (as in how much of a difference will the extra 2MB of cache on the CPU or the extra 4GB of GDDR5 memory make?) or if its worth waiting until the setup I want is available.

Either way, the screen resolution, even at 1440p, would be too much for a 980M to handle on very high/ultra settings on many games. If you want a good gaming laptop, check out some Sager, ASUS, or MSI ones.
