Im in the market for a new laptop that can handle gaming. Im mostly looking on eBay for manufactured refurbished laptops. One thing I've noticed is that most of the laptops with GPUs such as the 930m all usually have the i7-5500U 2.5ghz dual core processor. Is this processor strong enough to handle gaming? i can get a HP Envy M6 15" 360x with an i7-5500U, 8 GB RAM, 1TB HDD and a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 930M graphics for typically around 600. Or should i just save 150-200 more dollars to get a HP Envy 17t with a i7-4710mq quad core, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, and a GeForce GT 840M Graphics with 2 GB?

You should get the 840m, but neither one of those computers appears to be a very good deal. This computer (http://portablepicker.com/part/asus-laptop-gl551jwds71) has a much better GPU then either one of those two. If you do however decide to pick one of those two, a quad core and the 840m will be much better than a dual core and the 930m.
