Hi! I'm looking to get an upgrade on my rig to gain smooth gameplay on ultra/max settings.
(this includes AA and so forth)
My friends are telling me my processor and motherboard should be fine for my build and just get a 980ti, but im coming to the experts to see where I should really look into helping out my build max out games such as: ARK, World of Warcraft (while streaming), Rainbow Six Siege, Blade and Soul, Battlefront, CS:GO, and games similar to these.

Current specs:
GPU - EVGA 970 SC FTW
CPU - i7 4790K 4.0ghz
MOBO - Asus z-97a
PSU - Corsair CX750M
RAM - 16GB (4X4) HyperX Kingston Blue 1600mhz

Solution
It is not called disposable income. Money you spend on "luxuries" is called discretionary income. Learn your economic terms.

Pascal might be worth the wait. Currently, you have the GTX 970 which is a hell of a card still. At 1080p, you can run any game at at least high settings with it. You are definitely gonna survive with it until summer. It is important to see what Pascal has to offer but I doubt NVIDIA will actually get rid of their current GPUs and replace all of them with Pascal. GTX 980 Ti is likely to stay so you surely could buy it now and not worry about stuff.

Do not forget to get a better PSU though like a 550-650W G2 or GS.

hello, what resolution are you play? If only fullHD single monitor, I think you should sell your gtx970 and get single GTX980ti. The rest you can keep. You also can get 2nd GTX 970 and SLI it. but with your PSU, if you do overclock, you might want change PSU to much better PSU. Just my 2 cents. :)

I game at 1080p and use a 2nd monitor for misc chats and what not.

They are right. If you end up upgrading to a GTX 980 Ti, replace your power supply with a higher quality unit such as Supernova GS or G2. The CX Series power supplies use low quality caps and are not recommended to use when overclocking or in high load situations.

You can pick up a 1000W unit as well if you want to SLI the 2 980 Ti's.

I actually would recommend waiting for Pascal. See what NVIDIA has to offer this year.

I read into Pascal a tiny bit, do you think it's going to be worth waiting for? I have disposable income now and may not in the 5-6 months.

The definition between the two terms are just one before paying your taxes, and one after paying your taxes. In which either term is acceptable.
Disposable income is the amount of net income a household or individual has available to invest, save or spend after income taxes. It's calculated by subtracting income taxes from income. For example, suppose a household has an income of $250,000, and it pays a 37% tax rate. The disposable income of the household is $157,500 ($250,000 - ($250,000*0.37)). Thus, the household has $157,500 to spend on necessities, luxuries, savings and investments.

The reason im trying to get another card over this 970 is because my old powersupply shorted and took most of the 6 point pci power port on the card with it, and I don't want to risk another power supply on the card.

Thanks for the input on the question though. I'll put back enough for a powersupply that'll hold it's own when I purchase my graphics card in the next week or two.

Income = total money received for land. labor, or capital.
Personal Income = Income - Social Insurances.
Disposable Income = Income - taxes - non-tax payments (bills, rent, insurance)
Discretionary Income = a part of Income one spends on luxuries. or the amount of Income available to an individual after all the essentials have been paid for.
