Explain the current state of integrated video to me

The last time I was really paying attention to computer hardware "integrated video" meant the GPU and video circuitry was integrated into the video. Now I'm reading about how it's integrated into the CPU itself?

I'm pretty confused. Can someone explain this change to me?

In the past they were integrated on motherboard itself. Now they were on the cpu itself. And there is still discrete card. They exist even before mobo have their own integrated graphic. The prediction was everything will be unified into one package making discrete gpu rendered useless to modern PC but the state of 3D graphic still advancing and we still far to render 'life like' scene with a single most powerful discrete gpu.

lol i hope they will not going to integrate RAM into CPU. imagine if you want to have more RAM in your system the only way to have more is by upgrading your CPU. surely i don't like the idea haha. those extra die space would be better off dedicated to improve cpu performance more.
