Crucial BX100 SSD not detected by MSI Z97 PC Mate sometimes...

So the SSD is my boot drive and there's a Seagate old-school hd. When it happens the MoBo's BIOS would NOT detect the SSD and only locate the Seagate. Normally it would go back to work after several times of powering up.

I've made sure the cables are connected and even switched to different SATA ports on the MoBo, but no avail.

It doesn't happen all the time, maybe 3~5 times in the last 30 days. I found some past threads on similar problems suggesting updating to latest firmware and BIOS. Any other ways to tackle this?

Thanks a lot.

Hey there.

Well, besides the already mentioned suggestions, you could test the drives for errors, to see if the anything unusual pops-up.
Did that started to happen all of a sudden or after you've added the SSD? If you've added the SSD later, how did you install Windows? Was it a clone, or a fresh install and if it was a fresh install, did you have the other drive disconnected from the mobo during the OS installation process?

Please let me know what happens after you test both drives.
