SO I want to upgrade my PC, its been about 5 years. ( still using an AMD Phenom II x4 955)

I already have a Nvideo 970 GTX, but I need to be more future proof, and want to be able to game smoothly, and render videos, with sony vegas. possibly go into 4k gaming in a year or 2, when I can afford monitor.

My budget is 400-500 buks. SO I need new CPU RAM and MOBO. Here is what I am thinking so far, suggestions?

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117563

MOBO :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130884

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231884

ANy thoughts? ALso, can someone recommend a decent CPU cooler for this? I may overclock it, but nothing too high.

If you plan on doing any overclocking, get the K version. It's unlocked mulitplier will make any overclocking process much easier if you decided to do so in the future.

Also, for a CPU cooler, the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO is probably your best bet. You can usually get it for under $30 and it will be all you need unless you plan on doing a major overclock, especially on Intel CPU's.

Otherwise, that part combo looks pretty good. I would suggest taking a look at microcenter, because they generally have Mobo-CPU bundles that could save you $20-$40.

Then, you can go for i7 4790K by spending little extra but you can save on mobo and RAM because LGA 1150 scoket mobos are cheap compared with LGA 1151 mobos and you can save on RAM also (DDR3 1600/1866 OR DDR 4 1866/2133 will not make any difference in performance)
