Okay, my son and daughter-in-law decided to move out to our farm and live in a travel trailer to save money and pay off their huge school loans. I live way out in the country and internet is difficult and expensive to get out here. I have internet at my house and wifi, but it does not reach the location where they had to park their trailer (where there are hook ups).

It's about 370 feet from where the router is located inside a bedroom in my house next to the exterior wall. It's pretty much an open shot to their travel trailer, except for the corner of my barn. Here is a Google Earth shot of the situation.

My current router is an old Linksys WRT54GS with booster antennas on it. My son can actually get a little signal out at their trailer with this setup, but it is intermediate. I tried a new router (Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N 600mW Amplified Router) a while back, but it was way worse the my current one.

So I am wondering if ya'll can help with some ideas on how to solve this problem. I was thinking a newer more powerful router, or maybe a router that I could connect an external mono-directional antenna to.

370 feet is ~112m, only just over maximum Cat5 length. You could try a cable run (External-grade Cat-5 is easy to work with and about £70 for a 305m roll here in the UK, US prices will be cheaper), the extra shielding on the external grade may well be enough to cope the distance? Strong and easy to bury in the ground too.
