Hi! I just bought the Blue Yeti Blackout and when i started up TeamSpeak 3 to go speak with my friends, they said that the quality of my voice was not very good, like not extremely bad, but pretty bad for someone who just payed $150 for a desktop USB mic. The mic sounds great when using the Windows "Listen to this device" feature, the quality is also fine in Audacity, it is just pretty bad in TeamSpeak 3, i have tried playing with the gain, Windows mic volume and the TeamSpeak settings to no avail. I dont know what to do right now :/

I bought this mic thinking the quality through TeamSpeak would be amazing, but i am kinda disappointed now, would be awesome if you guys could share your experience with the Blue Yeti in TeamSpeak :) And maybe tell me if you have had the same experience. As i wrote earlier, the quality is not horrendous, but not anywhere near as good as it sounds in Audacity or in other mic tests, or when plugging a headphones straight into the mic to listen to it for that matter.

Dont know if i put this in the correct part of the forum, but i did not really know where to put it, feel free to move it if needed.

Whats the Codec in the channel you are talking in, make sure it is Opus Voice with a quality of at least 6.

What they may also may be hearing is that you sound different thus to them you don't sound as good, higher end mic's are more sensitive and pickup better sounds that low end mic's

The thing is though, it sounds just as bad when using the TeamSpeak mic test. Now, i do not know what Codec that uses, but should it not atleast sound good in there? And i have tried changing Codec by the way, it did not seem to do much :/

It is a USB mic, does that matter for the quality?

Another guy on Reddit said that this is completely normal and that TeamSpeak's Codec can butcher the quality of even the best mics :/ I dont know what to believe now x)

I dont know about butcher but a codec compressing it will be a quality loss. I myself have a Sennheiser PC 323D, using it via USB. My microphone quality is great and so is the sound coming out of my headset (prefer it over speakers for music), several of my friends have also bought Sennheisers with similar experiences. But I would imagine a Blue Yeti @ ~$150 would trump those. So you have another voice comm program you can try like Mumble, Vent, etc. You also may get better support on the Teamspeak forums themselves than here.

Yeah, i already posted on the TS forums. No answers there yet :/ But i do not think there is something wrong with the mic since it sounds fine in Audacity and such :/
